New Here
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 12:41 PM
Im new here! Some of you may know my husband Chris aka History something or other.

My name is Diane. I saw a picture of a pink tank lastnight Chris showed me and decided I might want to do something like that. I have never built or touched a model before ever! Chris suggested that if I had a free minute at work to come over sign up and introduce myself...I dont plan on typing a lot of messages (I do like to read though) but was told everyone here if very nice and helpful.

Im not sure what my first kit is going to be. Chris gave Heather and myself a V W Bug that I have yet to touch but I dont have as much time on my hands as he does lol...I require more than 2-4hrs sleep...I guess that would be where our age difference comes into play!

Whoever did that pink tank I really liked it!
Im not much of an online forum or bulletin board person I stare at computers all day anywhere from 8-16 hrs a day so can someone tell me what all the smilies on the left are for?

Thanks for letting me introduce myself

Welcome to the world of crazy model builders. Sign - Welcome [#welcome] I am sure that very soon you will be building models better than Chris. But again, any one can build a model better than Chris.Whistling [:-^]Whistling [:-^]Whistling [:-^]

Welcome to FSM Diane.

Chris must have showed you Frosty's Pink Panther that she is working on.

The smilies are our way of showing emotions, something that can be easily mistaken on a screen.Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]

Enjoy the forums, contribute when you want, and soon you'll be building great kits.

THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD!Shock [:O]
Do I really have to welcome her?(hehe Just kidding!.....[;)) So you mean to tell me your actually going to build the kit I got for you....instead of making me build it? LOL
Diane the smilies are just like on AOL chat....well a lil better you just use them for expressions...if you hover over them it will tell you what they are....They have a testing forum where you can try out different features.....

BTW if youre ever gonna do a tank.....go over to the armor forum and ask all your questions there they WILL be much more help than I could ever be!Approve [^]

Berny I have no doubt shed be better at this than me after she gets a few kits under her belt! But Im the better photographer! LOL.....

Robert...It was Frostys Pink Panther....

Welcome Diane. It is good to have more lady modelers among us. Could probably bring some sanity into the forum. He-he-he.

Does this mean that we will hear less and less from Chris, after this? LOL.

Thank you all for the Welcome! I really want to do a tank but will save my questions for the appropriate category. As far as sending Chris to the doghouse....I'd do it but he'd just find something fun to do out there like load some ammo or start another fishing rod. He just finished one for my brother it looks amazing! Absolutely perfect, of course thats whats expected when one is a perfectionist! Im far from a perfectionist Laugh [(-D] I know when to look at something and say OK thats as good as it gets!Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]
As far as hearing less from Chris, I doubt it! LOL I usually look at the site from work where I have a connection that doesnt require a 50 year wait for the page to load! And the last thing I want to do when I get home is look at another computer monitor after staring at a few all day at work.
Again Thanks for the Welcome!

Welcome to the forums, Diane. Glad to see the hobby can also be a family affair. Hows about you and Chris posting "his" and "hers" model images?

Welcome Diane. Looks like Dave is going to have to create a ladies forum before to long so they can have a place to go to if us guys get to be a little to much to handle. But since some of us live with them, they can always just knock us back in line right Chris?
