New to modeling

My husband (demono69) told me about this forum and I thought that I might as well see what all the fuss is about. Every time I see him any more he is either on this forum or doing a model. He finally convinced me to build one of my own. He got me the Revell 1/32 Bell X-1. It is harder than I thought to build. My painting technique needs much work and I need to learn how to use superglue without gluing my fingers together or even to the model itself.

Hello Kris and Welcome Aboard! Im sure youll find some useful stuff here. Hey now I dont feel so bad having Diane here to keep me inline ROFL Scotts wife is here too! HEHE

As far as the gluing your fingers to the kit....once you start that you never stop! LOL thats why I keep Acetone and Qtips handy!

Yeah Scott keeps the Debonder close by just for me I think. I think I have used have the bottle already. Doing better than my brother did tho. He once had a bottle of superglue in his back pocket and forgot about it. Awhile later he put his hand into his pocket and it was stuck. Ended up spending hours in the ER having it unglued.

Naw he only did that once. He learned his lesson pretty quick. Glued fingers yes hand in pocket no.

Welcome to the forums, Demankat! I assure you that you'll get hooked on modeling... especially since your husband's got all the right tools and paint! if you have any questions just fire away... these guys/girls in the forum have some really good advice to share. Smile [:)]

Man! how many husband/wife parent/offspring sibling/sibling pairs do we have in this forum anyway?!? too bad none of my relatives are into "building accurate historical Miniatures"... Sad [:(]

Welcome to the forum Kris. Don't worry the superglue wears off your fingers after a few days. Looks like I started a popular trend with getting the wife into modeling.
