Hello all,

I used to build quite a lot when I was a kid (1st model I can remember doing was an Aurora Glow-in-the-Dark Dracula when I was 6 or 7), but drifted away from it.

My wife sent me to a LHS a couple of weeks ago to get a paint-by-numbers kit for our girl, and I walked out with 2 Rev Ger kits (1/320 DC-10 and 1/72 FW 190 A8/R11), glue, and paint (oh, and the PBN kits!). I've been checking sites for tips, techniques, etc., 'cause it's been a LONG time since I've put one of these together.

Been lurking here, saw it's a friendly, helpful bunch, and decided to introduce myself! I hope I'll be able to contribute in time.

Welcome back - you have a very familiar story. You will find that most of us did the same thing, been away for a while but came back. This is a great time to be involved with the models with so many new things hitting the market and the technologies involved giving us such fine quality kits to play with. If you need any help just ask, one of will be able to help for certain.

I'm sure most of us here have drifted away from the hobby, but eventually came back to it. You're not alone there!

I stopped modeling for a while during high school when i got involved in extracurricular stuff, etc... The tempting kit, in my case, was a 1/72 Academy B-17F. I had originally planned to go to the LHS to have a look and see what the modeling world has been up to... I left with a kit, glue, paint and brushes. Oi! [:0] It's good to be back, isn't it? Wink [;)] Oh, welcome to the nuthouse forums asylum! Ask away and the guys and girls here will help you in any way we can! Smile [:)]

Thanks for all your kind words. Poking around this site and others, I think I'm gonna have to make another trip to the LHS (must avoid wall o' kits).

7thcavscouts: I'll be happy to post pics if it turns out well.

cassibill: I look ofrward to seeing pics of the dog-handler project (I was a puppy-pusher in a former life!).
