New to the modeling world!!
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, December 11, 2003 11:10 PM
Hello everyone, my name is Heath I am 27 and reside in Sunny San Diego. I have just recently started modeling after a few years break from a few failed attempts as a young teen. I am now in the process of modeling a 1:32 A-10, a 1:48 Skymaster, a 1:48 Bonanza, and a Mugen NSX. I am an Avionics Technician by trade, and decided to model every type of aircraft I have ever worked on which numbers over a 100. Every Once in a while I get to work on a few warbirds (and yes I have worked on quite a few Mustangs), and we have a CDF (Califonia Department of Forestry) base of ops at our airport, so sometimes I get some really excellent reference photos with my digital. If anyone has any requests please feel free to drop me a line. I will gladly help if possible just keep in mind I work on light prop planes, not any jets......sorry. Happy modeling, and I hope to see you all while I am scouring the forums!!

Welcome abord the FS Modeler Heath! I assume that you mean P-51 Mustangs and not Ford Mustangs. Both rule. I like the Enzo Ferrari myself. Everyone should have a copy of the Tamiya Enzo (hee hee).

Welcome to the forums, Heath! Califonia Department of Forestry, you say? I assume this means firebombers... There was a good thread on firebombers in the a/c forums not a while back. you may want to check this out! I know you're going to fit in nicely here! Smile [:)] have fun!

Oh, and would you have any photos of a PBY-5/5A? where do they get the most chipping/rust/wear? Wink [;)]

Thanks everyone for your kind welcomes!! I appreciate it. Unfortunately Shrikes, I've seen only one PBY when I was very young, I will keep a look out and take plenty of pics if I see one though. I do have some awesome pics of a Canadair amphib that was flying bombing missions at our airport.
