Welcome,
Check out the aircraft forum. There is a thread right now about R2800 engines and a link to a website that is restoring an ex-Hondoran FG-1D. There are a lot of F4U experts here, I'm not one of them, but if close, most of these planes were F4U-4 (FG-1) and F4U-5s that were retruned by the French to the US then sent to Central America and Argentina.

Hasagawa makes a really good F4U-4 kit in 1/48. Since the FG was the designation that the aircraft was made by Goodyear, there is no difference. Find the book "Flying Colors F4U Detail in Scale". This copy has the Honduran schemes in both the grey and blue with FS color listings.

Welcome, Denwil69!
I can't answer your Q, but I'm sure a trip over to the Aircraft Forum would reveal all the info you need!

1/48 Corsair

Greetings all. I was wondering if anyone out there can help me. I'm interested in building an 48 FG-1D Corsair, which was involved in the El Salvador/Honduras "Soccer War".
What kit could I buy which comes close to this model?
The camo job is very colorfull. What colors are they? Who would make decals for this air force?
I appreciate any help I can get.
