Trains, Planes and Automobiles
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, January 3, 2004 3:23 PM
Hello All,

I just signed up to FineScale forum. I started building car and truck models when I was about 10 yrs old. I built a few aircraft models and got into R/C when I was 18, just out of high school. Then in the mid-80s I started building a model railroad. This became a hastle due to military moves. After retiring from the US Air Force in Dec 91 I got back into modeling cars and in '95-'96 I built a custom R/C off road truck. Now medically retired I decided, about a year ago, to get back into model railroading. I am currently building in HO scale (1:87) a 5'x12' layout. What I find the most fun on my MRR is scratch building structures and scenery.

My other intrest is in old Sailing Ships (1600s, 1700s, 1800s) with cross arm sails and would soon like to buy a set of plans to build one. One of my other hobbies is woodworking and would like to try scratch building the ship from a set of plans. Any good ship plans links?

Welcome to the forum, Dave. You will probably get more replies to your question of sites if you post it in the "Ships" pages. Have fun & enjoy !

Welcome to the forums, Dave! I messed with Railroad stuff when i was about 8 years old with my dad... it turns out we didn't have enough space to put the darn thing and we just put it back into the box... i have yet to get back into that. I'm happy with my plastic addiction! Smile [:)] any pics of your trains?
