New from ILL

Hi all!!!  Well after at least a decade Ive decided to get back into my old hobby. Now in my mid 20's I have the time and money to pursue my old hobby and have already created a fairly decent workshop with most of the things I need to start with and have already begun my first build, nothing special just something to get familiarized with and let me say I did not miss the painting... hand brush that is. I hate to say it but Im a complete noob to this and have always used Testors straight from the bottle(not sure if that's wise)since now I read about different techniques and thinning blah blah. One step at a time I suppose.

Well good to be back and be able to be apart of a community!Toast

Welcome Sign You came to the right place!

Its like the old school 'coffee row' of regulars who keep the place busy, new members are always welcome and before long it will be the place where everyone knows your name.Coffee

*First tip:

NEVER paint directly out of the bottle. I dip a SS pin in the paint without getting any on the rim of the bottle onto a piece of glass. A eye dropper is suspended above on a jar secured with blue poster tack to add thinner as needed.

Thanks for the welcome fellas!

I'll be reading up on this site as much as I can to get as much knowledge as I can to better my skills but really quick SuppressionFire and this may be a dumb noob question to ask but why besides being enamel base paint is it bad to paint directly out of the bottle? Some people say its okay for hand brushing while others say the opposite....

I'll be picking up another model (Mostly Military Planes)after work and paint as needed so what ever you can add to help is much appreciated!

THANKS!
