Hi, my name is Tim, currently in Charlotte, NC. I have just recently got back into the hobby after about a 25 year break, to go to college, get married, start a family and a career. My parents brought over a ton of boxes which contained my collection of kits as well as about 10 models in various stages of completion.
My goal is to get my feet wet again, so I have started by finishing the ones I started in the mid eighties. So far I have completed a Revell, F/A 18 , Monogram p-51B, Monogram F-80 all in 1/48 and a Heller p-39 in 1/72.
On the bench I have a Monogram p-47 D, Monogram F/A -18, Monogram A-4, ESCI Mirage F1c all in 1/48. I am also working on a p-61 that I had started as a teenager, and gave up on. When I took a look at it again, some of the parts were on trees, some in a plastic grocery bag, and still others spread throughout in various kits. So far I have ben able to get all of the pieces in one spot, any that were missing I was able to get directly from Revell, which was nice. I didn't get too far into the build as a teenager before it got the better of me. Now that I am older and wiser I am really taking my time fixing the issues and making progress on the kit. So far I have the cockpit done and the two booms together and primed. I am working on the wings right now, scratchbuilding the 4 intake ducts.
With two active kids, and a career, my model time is relegated to a few minutes at night and some time on weekends, so progress is slow, but it is still fun. I will post some pics of my completed models in a few days.
