Welcome back.  This forum is the best source for tips on tools, techniques, and general information.  Its also approximately 95% snark free.

Enjoy!

Hello All,

My name is Jeff and I too, like many of the others here used to be an avid modeler when I was young.  I absolutely loved building military aircraft, tanks and ship models starting fairly young ~ 8 - 9 up through my late teens( I am 45 now).  I remember my mother signing me up for several "model of the month" clubs and the pure joy of meeting the challenge of my next model. My guess is at one point I had 100+ models, mostly 1/72 scale, some 1/48 and the smaller scale ships in my collection. Of all the models I built I am sitting here looking at 6 that have survived!  My skill level never really got beyond "good", but I did build some very nice models despite the lack of an airbrush or the use of putty to fill in those cracks.  When I was in full swing with my modeling, I remember literally not stopping until the model was done, except maybe a 4-5 hours sleep in between!  The good ol days for sure! Life - college, career and lack of time killed that hobby but I am looking to get back into this and step up the skills a notch or two.  I need something outside of work and my 2 wonderful, 21 month old twin baby girls to help restore and maintain some sanity.

I will be looking to the "pro's" out here for advice on airbrush hardware, techniques and general questions as this unfolds. I certainly enjoy looking at some of the pictures of true masterpieces out here and admire the work of all that enjoy this hobby.

Regards,

Jeff C.
