New here. Back to models after 10yrs AD.
Hi mates.
Found this forum from good ol FSM and wow, what a place.
I am back to the hobby,
Had to give up building when 9/11 rolled around and the pace of being gone so much took its toll. Now that I am at a base (in TX) where I have time at home, I have taken the old tools, paints and blades out to start work again. (10 years in the heat and the model masters are fine, wow)
I just noticed that all the hobby shops are gone, and what stores do carry models here, are not going to restock them. I want to be able to share the fun of going to get a model, get home and start it with my kids but am wondering if that generation is gone. So here I am to pick it back up.
I did mostly 1/72 aircraft but dabbled in figures, enough to win 1st place at a Tamiya contest at their HQ in CA in 98' (which was no great feat as I was probably the only entry in that category)
I am now building 1/35th Eastern Front armor but am just adding more models right now, not painting yet. As I attempt to soak in all the methods and techniques going on here I might have a chance to show em off some day, months or years from now, when they are finished
