Hello from southern Indiana!
Posted by AceHawkDriver on Sunday, May 1, 2011 6:11 PM

Hi everybody.  I'm new to the forum but have been reading them for awhile.  I've been modeling for 18 years now, mostly 1/32 1/48 1/72 aircraft and 1/35 armor projects.  I've been thinking of delving into some ship's but haven't worked up the nerve yet.  I'm looking forward to reading even more and talking with folks who know what sprue is!

Peace through superior firepower.

Thanks all for the welcome!  Glad to see another Hoosier here and someone who's been in our neck of the woods Smile.  I look forward to being able to follow a lot of everyone's work and might delve into some group builds in time!

Peace through superior firepower.

I travel down to southern part of Indiana few times a year and I always wondered if there is a good hobby shop for me to check it out.  Know there is couple in Louisville area just across the border but I haven't seen them.

Greetings Hawk..........   glad to "meet" you, and welcome to the forums.

Some great reads within as well as a wonderful source of information. There are always fine folks willing to lend a hand, foot or otherwise.

Hope to see some of your work too...........

Bill

Enjoy the ride!

Thanks for the welcome BaBill212!  Looking forward to it all!

As far as a good hobby shop here in southern IN, I'm not too far south (Bedford) and have a LHS in Bloomington that I used to frequent.  It's owned by an older couple and doesn't have a lot in the way of armor kits, but they do have a decent size selection of paints etc.  There is a LHS in Bedford, but I haven't been in there yet so I couldn't tell ya.  Most of the time I head to Hobbytown USA in either Greenwood or Castleton.  I'm looking to head to Elizabethtown in KY sometime in the near future and am looking forward to checking out the shop there.

Peace through superior firepower.

Thanks for the info!  Next time you come to Indy you should visit 'Big Boys Hobbies'.  It is located on Pendleton Pike on the east side.  I go there to buy kits because their prices are much cheaper than Hobby town USA and they have huge selections of all kinds.  I do shop at Hobbytown USA just for tools and supplies... sometimes kits if they are on sale.

See you in Panzer III GB.  Looking forward to this... Yes
