Hello all,
Just a quick hello and wanted to say what a fantastic site this is, I've just returned to making models after a break of 25+ years and after browsing through the pages here thought I would join and hopefully get some good tips and maybe in time share some of my own.
I've decided to build 1:48 WWII aircraft, mainly as I think these aircraft are the best looking , but also as my eyesight is getting poorer I will be able to see a little better. So far I have gone out and bought mostly Tamiya kits with an odd Monogram thrown in, my collection only has 1 Spitfire, 2 BF 109's, 1 FW 190 and a HE111, though I just got hold of a B17.
Previously I did make mostly Sci-Fi with a dash of F-14 Tomcats to mix things up, in my youth I built straight from the box and never used after market or weathering details but now after reading posts on here I want to do lots more. So I will have lots of questions so please bear with me :)

Advice - watch out for those 1/32 kits! Talk about seeing what you're doing!

There's a lot us guys who've been lured back to modeling by the erotic blandishments of styrene and paint thinner.
This is the best place for tips and techniques. A certain amount of off-the-wall humor is available if you've got the huevos for it.
Enjoy!
