Introduce Yourself - Right On
Posted by Enohead on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 1:59 PM

Hey, everyone -

I'm finally getting around to posting, after lurking for a few months.

I'm 47, and I started building models with the Aurora Monster kits when I was around 9 or 10.  I got into Tamiya armor kits in high school and then, as is the case with most everyone else it seems, took an extended break from the hobby until recently.

I'm still mostly building WWII German armor, but I'll stray a bit.  I have several boxes of reissues from my childhood that are waiting patiently for me.  Remember the AMT Gigantics series of giant bug dioramas?

I've already gotten some great tips from the forums and the magazine that have helped me get up to speed with the new aspects and techniques of modeling, so thanks for that!

I look forward to posting some pics to the Reader Gallery as I finish some of my builds - I have a bad habit of letting them sit when they're in the last stages so I can start a new kit.  Shameful.  But at least now that I've said that I'll do it, maybe I'll have a little bit of accountability - enough to give me the kick in the butt I need to finish!

In the meantime, I look forward to sharing some tips and tricks and stories of xacto knife fights.  Big Smile

Welcome Sign I'd say more, but I'm afraid I might hurt someone's feelings.

Welcome. Do you advocate the overthrow of the United States government by force or subversion? (This is not a multiple choice question.)

Occasional factual, grammatical, or spelling variations are inherent to this thesis and should not be considered as defects, as they enhance the individuality and character of this document.

Whose?  Mine?  It's okay - unless it's some unprovoked personal attack, I'm pretty thick-skinned.  Smile

Sorry.  I've been involved in some silliness on another thread and I need to re-direct.

Seriously, welcome to the asylum.  You'll make some friends here and learn a great deal about modeling techniques.

Force or subversion?

Hmmm... which category does poo-flinging fall under?  Because that's the one.

Heh!  That's not really allowed here.  We really do try to keep things light-hearted.  Quotes from Monty Python skits and Star Wars along with photos of strange things is what we all like.  Sometimes a pompus windbag goes too far and the Thought Police Forum Administrator steps in to restore civility.

Again. welcome.

In that case, replace the poo-fling with a banana.  Or a pointed stick - what about a pointed stick?

Thanks for the welcomes, everyone.
