"Welcome, its great to have another scifi and gundam builder here.  We have been swarming in here lately, I can remember a time when I was one of the very few here..."

Smeagol, the Gundam modelers are out there, but they are hiding under rocks or something.  I know because I was one of them!  I used to be kind of ashamed to bring robot type models to the club meetings, much less admit that I built them.  But that's all changed now, as anime kits are fairly mainstream, and their engineering (well some of them) is nothing short of stunning.  There's nothing like cramming it back to a "scale-only" guy by mentioning that the MG kit you brought had over 250 parts, and... what was that?  How many parts did that Hasegawa airplane kit have?  80?  Super Angry  (Before I start a flame war with the airplane guys, I would like to add that I also build 80 part Hasegawa kits, and like them very much.)

But yeah, I'm also happy to see the Gunpla fans coming out of the woods to join the GB.

BTW, I was very fortunate to have met Orkork at a club sponsored model contest, and since then he has provided myself and the club with invaluable energy and inspiration.  I think guys like him try really hard to put forward a positive attitude, which is infectious, even to grouchy guys like me.

Orkork

Howzit everyone. So decided to join the FSM forums.  First off, I build Sci-Fi and fantasy stuff.  Right now I'm into the whole Warhammer 40K/Fantasy stuff.  I also build Gundam, but mainly the Universal Century stuff.  I've built some real military machines but not much.

Nobody gets to see the WIZARD! Not nobody! Not no how! … Oops! Wrong greeting! Never mind …

@bsyamato

Yes. I know Real G. We both belong to IPMS Hawaii.  I'm also the club's webmaster.  www.ipmshawaii.freewebsitehosting.com  If it wasn't for Real G, I wouldn't be the person I am today.  That's the kind of effect that some modelers can have off of each other.  When you feed off of other people's enthusiasm and inspiration, it gets you into the modeling mode.  It's good to see other modelers that build a wide variety of things. Big Smile

Howdy and welcome, my son has built some Gundam models. I however, have been trying to build some Start Trek Star Ships but have stalled because I want to light them up and haven't figured out how to build the electronic portion of the light system (the winking and flashing part). I look forward to seeing some of your work. Again welcome, Magoo
