Hello. I am now 65 and retired, and have not built a plastic model in 40 years, so I have a lot to learn.  I guess I should start with the basics- what are the good brands nowadays, any suggestions as to glue, tools, whatever are most welcome.  I have always been a plastic model fancier, but the last one I built was of the Cutty Sark about 40 or so years ago.  I hope to learn enough to be able to contribute, but it's a long way back for me.  I am also open to references for places to buy model kits and supplies, as well as information that will help me relearn the hobby.  Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Welcome back! Some of the vets should be along shortly to help you out.

What types of models are you most interested in?

Szyp,   Remember the movie, "The Time Machine" ?  You have just stopped in the land of the Eloi and Morlocks.  Where to start?  I'm sure that you have a preference for what you'd like to build.  Visit that category and look through some threads that look interesting.  There are lots of works in progress that will give you insight to what and how people are doing things.  Also the Group Build category has a lot of in progress work that will give you some direction.  Utube also has countless "How To" videos showing the current state of modeling.   You will be shocked at the kits, the tools, the paints, and the detail parts that you can add to enhance your models.  The sky and price tag have no limits.  Good luck.  Rick
