You aren't the only old dude here so don't apologize.    Been around for quite a while myself and remember the $2 kits at the dime stores.  Will hit the double nickel this next January.  UGH!   Don't have near the number of kits that you have finished.  Most of mine are still in the box at this point.  Ended up on a 20 year hiatus after the big D and only recently got started again.  Bad thing lost a lot of building time.  The good thing is I now have the tools to do the things I kept dreaming up back when.  Woohoo!

I also build only 1/72 aircraft for the consistency of scale, and 1/700 whenever I venture into ships.

I'm sure we'd all like to see some photos of your collection; I've been building since the '60's, too, don't have anything left more recent than the mid-'70's, and it would be a trip down memory lane to see some of the old stuff.

There are a bunch of us that still do mainly 1/72 (even armor!), and there's not a thing wrong with brush-painting. Hope you'll enjoy hanging out here--it's a great group, with a wide range of backgrounds, experience and modeling preferences. I'm sure you may find some inspiration (or provide some to others). And, as always, we'd love to see some of your builds if you care to share.

glad you decided to join in here as well. I am sure you will find the guys here just as friendly and helpful, even if we do have the odd spat, but they are easy to ignore.
