Thats a Halinksy published model :) They are one of the highest end highest complexity kit makers out there. That is a gorgeous looking model! Not for beginners! You should see their tanks. The treads alone have HUNDREDS of parts... I got one in the basement in my model box. I will snap a pic to show you in the thread I will be starting soon for paper basics :)

No files used for the flying sr-71 ,just draw it on a paper sheet, cut and glued. and a weight on the nose to help the flyght Propeller

need to locate where these planes are stored

Thanks all! What is litter? :)

On a side note we have several people that convert models into RC vehicles, ships, boats, cars and planes. We have one guy that is working on putting a jet engine in his paper RC plane - heat is the main issue for that put is working on that!

Paper is great for the ships - one guy uses them for fighting because they are easy to reprint and rebuild portions of the ship. Not too hard to waterproof either.

That ST-71 cost 12 bucks.... yours that flies? but Ultra cool! PLEASE let me see a pic of the flying one! :)

Welcome! You've chosen an interesting medium- and your models look well done! I bet that Edmund Fitzgerald is going to look fantastic as well.

I believe you're the only one here who builds in paper, but we're all modelers first and there's always something to learn on these forums. Enjoy.....

OK!

Here are some of my builds - figure showing these would help introduce me better than running on at the mouth which I tend to do ;)

My KI-115 this was my first fairly complex pre-printed model build:

Pfalz DIII Stallion - this is an electronic download printed at home on my inkjet. First biplane - medium difficulty.

P40 AVG Warhawk Also printed at home on my inkjet. Darn wing root fillets are always my downfall due to a very slight compound curve which is very hard to get right with paper

Finally a simple wild west saloon I use for gaming. I have a whole city built that I can show all the buildings in another thread if anyone would like to see

Welcome Sign  Modelling is an obsession, an occupation, a disease, an addiction, a fascination, a fate. It is not a weak mind’s hobby. Those who do it must do it. Those who do not do it, think of it as a cousin of stamp collecting, a sister of the trophy cabinet, and [dinkywongo] of a sound bank account.

Occasional factual, grammatical, or spelling variations are inherent to this thesis and should not be considered as defects, as they enhance the individuality and character of this document.

so I can just use the link eh? I will give it a try! I do all my own hosting for my biz so storage isnt a concern. I am used to having to wrap the image with tags or something of the sort.... here goes!

I did not build this one but someone mentioned they tried a blackbird I thought it fitting :)  A HAH! gotta use the media insert icon.....

Hmmmm how do I put a picture inline or as an attachment to my post? Inline is preferred but an attachment would be fine and dandy too :)

Thanks!

Wellcome on Ecard Welcome Sign

Myself builded some aircraft paper, before to start with plastic kits about 25 years ago, not printed, i draw by myself , some invented and some almost real (remember a real flining sr-71 and a like super guppy one)

but none painted or with intention to be realistic look, just flyng tests Propeller and they really flying good Whistling

Also i remember to see in a modelling enciclopedy a spanish ship modeller that used paper to build ships better than kits!! (at least for the period, before PE parts avaible )

waiting to see some of your buildsToast

I came across some paper-model "books" at a local shop, aircraft carriers & battleships printed in Sweden iirc. Scared the Censored out of me just thinking about trying to assemble that sort of thing!! Welcome aboard, and as Rick mentioned, try to show us what you are up to.

On the bench: Airfix 1/72 Wildcat; Airfix 1/72 Vampire T11; Airfix 1/72 Fouga Magister

Welcome ecard,  Paper, plastic, wood, metal, we'll look at 'em all.  You soon find out that photography plays an important role in arousing interest.  Keep us up on what you 're doing.    Rick.

Hello all!

Been making models for more than a few years now. I build slow as heck but I get a great deal of enjoyment out of the time I do get to make models. I suppose I will be in the minority here given that my material of choice is paper. I am currently working on the Edmund Fitzgerald and got a good chunk of the hull finished up. Its my first ship so I am taking a bit more time than usual with it. If anyone has any questions about paper models please feel free to ask away!
thanks!
