Well met, all!

Well met, all.  My name is Craig;  I got started modeling at three years old with (gasp! the horror) Lego, then mechano at age six, and then the hard stuff at age eight, with glue and all.  Stopped for awhile, thought the habit was behind me...  and then my gaming buddies (I sublimated into AD+D for many years) did me wrong and got me a Warhammer 40K battlebox for my birthday.  Now forty something, i have decided to start the second childhood now in the hopes it will last longer than the first one.

For those of you who don't know, Warhammer 40K is a (British, if that explains anything) tabletop tactical war game featuring various armies including (but not limited to) Space Marines, Orks (yup, greenskins) Eldar (yes, space elves, both light and dark flavors) Necrons (what Terminators wish they could be) and my personal fave and only army, the Tau.  Space Communist Aliens, serving the Greater Good, with a serious powered armor anime look and feel.  You have to build each and every little guy, every vehicle...  and a typical army might have more than a hundred models all told.  Oh yeah, and you are supposed to paint them all as well!

So the monkey is well and truly back on my back, and since I have this need for my little guys to look good, here I am.  There are also these things called kitbash conversions, and I'm going that way as well because that way I will have UNIQUE Space Communist Alien powered armor anime models.  But I need much better chops to do it well, and that brings me here as well.

So.  Is it okay if I have a seat back here in the corner and watch awhile?

Welcome Craig.  I have two large Marine armies, and I'm trying hard not to get sucked into the new Necron black hole.  I also build WW2 aircraft.  You will find alot of good information here, but there is a danger in following WIP threads.  I have been tempted to buy ship, helicopter and tank models after following these threads, even though I know it would end badly for me.  The builders just make it look like so much fun.  You have been warned so enjoy.
