First Time Here
Posted by BackBlast on Friday, November 25, 2011 7:25 AM

Hello everyone

I signed in to FSM for the first time last night.  I have been getting the magizine for sometime now and been in the hobby since I was 17.  51 now, and not sure I'm any better at it than I was when I started, but enjoy this hobby extremely.  I checked out the Forum for armor and it appears there are plenty of folks willing to help the "Novis".  Thanks for reading this, and have a great weekend.

Welcome Sign

I hope you enjoy your stay. I can't help with the Armor and I've only just recently started building but it's always nice to see a new name in the forums.

Welcome aboard, BackBlast! It's a good group here. Being about the same vintage and time-in-hobby as yourself, it still continually amazes me how much neat stuff there is to learn (and, well, re-learn...) about this hobby of ours. Most everybody's happy to help.

If you get the chance, post some photos of your work. We all enjoy seeing what others are doing.

thanks everyone...and I will send some photos...although i doubt they are anything like what I have seen on some of the Forum blogs...we just moved to a new place, and although all we did was move from town BACK to the counrty, most if not all my armor models took hits, so now i have 5 or 6 small projects instead of one big one.  can't find my spares box yet and desperately need that for some repairs...anyway...thanks for those that responded so far..

very best regards

Welcome Sign Modelling is an obsession, an occupation, a disease, an addiction, a fascination, an absurdity, a fate. It is not a weak mind’s hobby. Those who do it must do it. Those who do not do it, think of it as a cousin of stamp collecting, a sister of the trophy cabinet, and [dinkywongo] of a sound bank account.

Occasional factual, grammatical, or spelling variations are inherent to this thesis and should not be considered as defects, as they enhance the individuality and character of this document.

Armor kits have always intimidated me so my hats off to you. I’m 65 and have been doing planes for most of my life - my suggestion is don’t get too rapped up in authenticity, do what you like and don’t worry about things like absolute true markings or colors. Unless you are going to show the kit you only have to please yourself.
