Greeting from Ninetalis
Posted by Ninetalis on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 7:37 AM

Hello,

Hello, I'm from Belgium and most people on the internet know me as Ninetalis.
I'm 18 and I've started modelling since april 2010.

I've allready made various models as you can see here on my Flickr
But I have more then just those, they are just the one's I uploaded.
The ones I didn't is because I think they look like Sh** (sorry Stick out tongue) or because they are allready hanging off my cealing and it is to hard to get a decent picture of it. maybe later I'll take some of my flying boats later.

I mostly build on a quarter scale (1/48), but I do have some models on 1/32.
They are the ones I hang on my cealing using Fising wire.
I have one model in 1/144 but I just bought that one because they'll never make it in 1/48.
But at this time I am taking a break in modelling, since I'm waiting for my airbrush and compressor, but normally I will have one by the end of this month. After that, factory Ninetalis will be back in business.

The reason why i joined this forum?
I would like some help with learning how to work with an airbrush and using different techniques.
Also so i can share my experience with others and so they can enjoy watching my models.

Now after you have read this, why not take some time off by watching some of my videos on my Youtube channel?
Enjoy!

Yours Truly, Ninetalis.

Ninetalis,

Checked out your models, excellent work and looking forward to seeing more!

The gloss finish on the Black Widow looks flawless. Did you wet sand between coats and polish the clear? Whatever technique you used it worked well.

Urrrhm well, i used the tamiya SEMI GLOSS X-18 (Acrylic) to paint the model
and i didn't even pre-painted it, but i think i did do a double coat of paint,
since it wasn't so good with just one layer.

also, the nose section was actually a huge mistake, i first builded it with the radar,
but i didn't know that I had to put in some weights to keep the model from falling on it's back.
So i took of the nose, removed the radar and added the weights, but i had to use a very strong glue, and i was forced to use glue that is actually used for building housesWhistling
i tried to sand it away, but i couldn't get it right once more.

Anyway, This thursday on my trip to London i will buy the great wall hobby kit of the Black Widow, with extra decals. so i can make another, hoppefully even better black widow.

Regards Ninetalis.
