Hello All New guy here
Posted by a31modela on Monday, January 16, 2012 12:13 PM

Hi,

My name is Steve from PA and new to this board.  I haven't built a kit since I was a kid but I collect unbuilt kits vintage car kits for display , ultimately in my garage.  I have a 1950 Chevy in my garage as well as collecting parts for a 1936 Ford pickup. I have mostly early AMT kits, a bunch of the 3-in-1 kits from the 60s,  an orig orange crate.

Every once in a while, I find something unique and cool that I have never seen before.

Besides building my hot rods, I also collect vintage speed equipment.  Redoing my garage ( eventually) to display my kits and speed equipment.

Thanks,

Steve

Welcome, Steve!  Nice to see another guy from PA here, there's a little group of us.  I'm in Bethlehem.

Looking forward to seeing more of your work, in 1:1 and in smaller scales!

Welcome!

Brad

Hi Steve

Why not dust one of the kits off and build it. Or try your hand at converting a few to look like your hot rods, you never know you might enjoy the small scale challenge.

Enjoy life. You don't know how long you have. Be polite. Smile - it costs nothing. If all else fails ---walk away. Enjoy life.

Welcome to the Forums Steve. Find a nice WARM corner in the house and start building. It was great when the last of the kids moved out and I CONFISCATED one of the spare bedrooms for my workroom. I have a bunch of old kits in my stash that I've held on to over the years.

There are a lot of great guys here that are only too willing to help out if you need it. Don't be afraid to ask.

Hi Steve!

Im new to the forum also and am from Monongahela, PA (south of Pittsburgh). I'm currently building a 1/24 scale curbside replica of my father-in-law's 1940 Ford 4-door that he made into a hot rod. Had to do a lot of customizing and scratchbuilding. It's been a real good experience. Am using products and techniques I've never used before. I also just got back into the hobby after a long layoff.
