Aerial wires
Posted by OzBuilder on Sunday, February 5, 2012 1:12 AM

G'Day everyone, I'm brand new to this site but look forward to receiving and/or discussing some of the finer aspects of aircraft modelling. My preference is 1/48th scale WW although I have a couple of others outside of this genre.

My initial question is this: what is the most popular material used for creating aircraft aerial wires?

A lot of people use Stretched Sprue which comes in useful for a lot of things. But a few years ago i switched to fishing line. Not sure what size you would need for your scale, i build 72nd, but i have found it ideal. It can be stretched tight without the risk of breaking. And i have a couple of kits that were finished 2 or 3 years ago and the antenna is still nice a taught.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
