The "Wingscale Saga" has had more drama than daytime TV. Here's the skinny:

Wingscale was working on a series of B-25s (J glass nose, J strafer, H), a Gloster Meteor, and a B-17 in 1/32

Early in 2011, "something" happened. Wingscale was a joint venture b/t an individual in I think the Netherlands and a manufacturer in China. At first everyone was all "oh the Chinese screwed him out of his designs!" but recent revelations have I believe muddied the waters. I don't know exactly what went down, but from what's been put out there, I no longer believe the Chinese partner acted in bad faith.

This individual created a new company, WingXL, that has big plans - 1/32 B-25C/D, B-26, P-61, etc.

Meanwhile, the original Wingscale B-25 recently showed up under the banner of H-K Models out of Hong Kong. The glass nose is currently available for pre-order through Pacific Coast Models (the US distributor) and Great Models. The H-K site says it's releasing February 29th, which seems oddly specific so hopefully means its really coming The J-strafer and H are forthcoming, as are the Meteor, B-17F and G, and an Avro Lancaster, all 1/32.

A 1/32 B-17 would be a very large model!  I'd have to hang it from my ceiling and it would fill most of the room!  But it sure would be neat!  I would love to see someone make a commemorative model of the B-17G restored aircraft, named the "Liberty Belle", which was destroyed last year because of an engine fire in Illinois.

I took a ride in that one in 2006, and took 99 up close and personal photos of her, on the ground and in flight.  It broke my heart to see her lost like that.

Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...

There was meant to be one being produced by Wingscale, but Wingscale had a bit of a hiccup (not sure of the details) and is now WingXL. The fort they had in production was pulled out from under them and is going to be produced by a chinese company (the crowd that was doing the molds for it for wingscale if i remember correctly)

As for photos, some came out a wee while ago.
