New to sight
Posted by woodze on Saturday, February 25, 2012 11:35 PM

I have just got back to modeling after 30 years being away from it. Things have changed, there is so much more available today. My personal favorite type of model to build is airplanes. I am really into WW2 so that is what I like to do best. I like building large scale planes and it is nice to see the 1/32 scale. I am building a B17G right now ( it would be nice to see this in 1/32 ) I am building this for a lady in town who helped build B17 and B29s during the war she told me it was the greatest time of her life and I thought it would be an honor to her.My next project is to build a Battle of Britian theme in1/32 . now I see every thing is or is being reissued in 1/32 the scale I chose, except the Beaufighter , I see one is available it is a Revell kit from 1974 does anybody now how good this kit is and is it worth 49.00 dollars? I am a stickler for detail and realism! Me and my wife own an auto shop it takes up a lot of my time but I do take the time to work on my planes. I also like to spend time on the internet  looking at different models available I feel like a kid in a candy store. I am glad we have a place that we can share information and help each other. Bob

Your wish for a 1:32 B-17 is coming. A new company is releasing its first offering a 1:32 B-25 with the -17 to follow.  As to the Beaufighter, its worth every penny since it is the only one available, but shop around at shows, you may find a better deal on one.
