Hello!!
Posted by Saj on Saturday, April 14, 2012 6:06 AM

Hi everyone. My name is Saj and i'm from the UK. I have recently taken up building model cars as a hobby and am quickly becoming addicted. I especially like american muscle cars like the shelby mustangs by Revell. Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello to everyone, hopefully I can learn from the more experienced modellers out there. Bye for now, Saj

Hi Saj,

Welcome along! I'm sure you'll be able to learn a lot from the people on here.

I think we all agree here that modelling is addictive - be warned, buying and building a stash of models seems to be more addictive (probably 'cause it's so much faster than building).

Will see you around.

Welcome Sign  The preceding resembles a very well written and intelligent e-mail, but was it really? It is a simple tale told with a hidden complexity, fooling the senses, laced with artful constructions, subtle phrases, and ambiguity to seduce and to confound the unguarded mind. Even if readers keeps their thoughts clear, they will still feel the content slipping away; although this can be controlled and overcome if they stay focused and keeps moving. This type of rationalization will surely ensnare readers if they are careless. if you have read this far, it is too late… you are lost.

HINT: Best use the “Search our Community” first, then ask a question. (142 items for “shelby AND mustang”.) Don’t use the Forum “E-mail addresses” window for questions!!! Use “Search our Community” (a page down).

For photos you need to have an account on a hosting site. A lot of people use Photobucket. It can be a pain and there are others, but that seems to be the most popular. Doogs ATX has a how to on getting photos put up if you can find it.

Saj

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Will post some pics up as soon as i figure out how. Saj

Okay, I’ll admit that I was a rocket scientist (aerospace engineer, really), but its not that hard, really, I promise. (There are several ways to do this. Just follow the sound of my voice…)

If you’ve been able to upload one or more photos (the green lozenge in Photobucket), you’re halfway there

Go to the Photobucket Album page and click on the thumbnail. This brings up a viewing window.

In another tab/window, fire-up the FSM forum composition panel you want to post into. Compose. When you’re ready to insert your photo…

Go back to the Photobucket tab. Highlight the SECOND entry (the Direct Link button). Do NOT do anything that disturbs the copy buffer.

Once again, go to the FSM post-in-progress. On the SECOND tier of the message control bar, the TWELFTH icon, the aqua-colored one that looks like a swatch of film (you remember film? But I digress…) It says ‘Insert Media CLICK IT.

Another panel opens! You’re almost there

Send (Ctrl-V) the URL you copied from Photobucket four steps back. The ‘Insert Mediapanel closes and your image is inserted, like this

This grainy satellite photo shows a facility that we
suspect is an enriching plastic to weapons grade.

THATS IT! The rest is just the fiddly bits & formatting,
which I know you already know.

This shelby gt 350h was my third model and the ferrari before my fourth. I haven't posted my first two attempts as they were a bit of a disaster. As you can see from the cracking I am still having trouble painting, I think it's because I am using lacquer on top of the base paint?
