Hello All!

I have been an enthusiast of Fine Scale Modeler for over fifteen years and have a magazine collection dating back to the original 1960's Scale Modeler. My model building goes back to the early 90's and as of recently I thought I should share some of my work with a like minded group.

P.S.

How do I go about posting pictures? I have a photobucket account, and was wondering which link I need to use.

Welcome 3rd,

Posting from Photobucket is simple.  Copy the "Direct" link in PhotoBucket.  In the post editor, there is an icon in the tool bar that looks like a piece of film strip (hover your mouse over it and says "Insert Media").  Click that and paste the URL into the proper field.  Click Insert and your picture should show up immediately in your post as your editing.

You can also copy the "IMG Code" link from PB and paste directly into your post, but it won't show up until you actually Post.  So, no way to make sure you have the pictures in the right places.

Look forward to seeing some of your work.

Paul

Welcome to endless wonder and friendly arguments without end. Enjoy some laughs and kick back; the natives are friendly (well, MOSTLY friendly). Post lots & lots of photos.

Okay, I’ll admit that I was a rocket scientist (aerospace engineer, really), but its not that hard, really, I promise. (There are several ways to do this. Just follow the sound of my voice…)

Go to the Photobucket Album page and click on the thumbnail. This brings up a viewing window.

In another tab/window, fire-up the FSM forum composition panel you want to post into. Compose. When you’re ready to insert your photo…

Go back to the Photobucket tab. Highlight the SECOND entry (the Direct Link button). Do NOT do anything that disturbs the copy buffer.

Once again, go to the FSM post-in-progress. On the SECOND tier of the message control bar, the TWELFTH icon, the aqua-colored one that looks like a swatch of film (you remember film? But I digress…) It says ‘Insert Media CLICK IT.

Another panel opens! I was, perhaps, stalling? You’re almost there

“Send” (Ctrl-V) the URL you copied from Photobucket four steps back. The ‘Insert Mediapanel closes and your image is inserted, like this

THATS IT! The rest is just the fiddly bits & formatting.
