I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.
First, I'm an Old Gaffer at 76. Used to do a lot of 54mm figures of all periods. Painting tartan kilts on the highland regiments was the toughest. Also the eyes. They make or break the figure. Favorite models were WWII armor, airplanes. Just stopped working on them for no specific reason in the early '70s. I have found kits of B-24J, F-4U, P-51, Boeing 247, 737, M-4 Sherman, M-3 Lee and a collection of old Scale Modler and Military Modler magazines that sold for a $1.00 at the time.
Doc was real please with the Spitfire. He keeps itm on his desk.
Welcome back to the hobby.
So, what did the Doc say.
In talking airplane things over with my doctor, the subject of building models came up. He suggested that I build a model and bring it in to him. Well, I had a 1/24 Spitfire from over 30 years ago (last time I worked on it) that was about 70% complete. Working several days a week, it took me almost two months to finish it. Hello to getting back into modeling. Things have changed since then not to mention myself. Not as steady as I once was. Thanks to FSM and the internet, I'm picking up on my old skills. You're never too old to get back into it. Currently building the 1/48 B-17G for a friend whose Dad piloted one in the 8th air force in WWII. Coming along great.
