hello all,
i haven't had a chance to look around yet but i'm sure i will enjoy it here. i'm from VA and just recently got back into modeling. my son got a couple of kits for Christmas this year and we've been working on them together. car kits that is. an Integra and a Viper. i bought a 66 Mustang for myself (dream car...*smiles*) and also bought an airbrush. the Integra came together pretty well for it to be our first. although i had to strip the paint and start over a couple of times. the Viper and Mustang are in progress. with a little more practice i think we'll start on some airplanes. the next thing i need to do is build a paint booth though, it's hard to contain the fumes and overspray in an apartment. well, enough rambling for now. it's time to take a look around. i look forward to getting to know you all...

Welcome to FSM Wingman....it's good to see both you and your son have found a hobby you can share. Have a good look around...I'm sure you'll like it here. Good modellers here who are always willing to share. Had a great visit to your beautiful State 2 years ago.....definitely on my "go back & see again" list.
Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert

thanks for the warm welcome...

i still haven't had a lot of time to look around, what with work and all, but i will. i've been away from modeling for a long time and it is good to be back. until this last Christmas it must have been about 30 years or so since i built my last model. i didn't do much painting or detailing back then and that's one thing that's so cool about it now, i can actually afford paints and stuff. *smiles* and i can also provide them for my son. not to leave out my daughter. she's six and we've built a couple of snap kits. she's anxious to do some gluing and painting too. my son's 11 btw... sadly, they don't live with me though. but on our weekends together it's something we can share that we all enjoy. i just have to get that paint booth built...

it is pretty here in VA. i've never really traveled that much but of the places i've been, i do like it best. hehe so Robert, if you're down this way again, give me a shout and maybe we can compare notes. and boybuddho, i don't know how you feel about revealing where you're from on here but...i'm in the Roanoke area myself. it is good to hear from a fellow Virginian.

Hi...wingman
I am in the Hampton Rhoads region in Newport News. I do agree with you about our lovely state...it is beautiful. I have been in and out of modeling for ever it seems, but once I start, it's hard to quit! I have been trying different subjects like 200mm resin busts..it gives me a break from the camouflage. I also bought a bunch of classic airplanes that I am looking forward to build. Talk to ya later!
