G'day from Australia. I have just found this forum while searching for some information on the 'Dora", which I have just shouted myself.
I am addicted to modelling and have been playing with them for over 40 years. I am currently working on the USS Constitution (Revell) and am looking forward to starting work on the Dora very shortly.
I also have a stash of kits waiting in the wings.
Anyway, I'll have a look around this site and see what you people are in to. I really enjoy seeing what other modellers are doing.
Hope to chat soon,
Elroy (Errol)
Welcome to the forum :)

Hey Elroy, welcome to the party. There's lots of Aussie modellers here.

Thank you for the warm welcome. Okay fellas, do we have the numbers yet? Oops, sorry, maybe I should wait until there are a few more of us before we attempt a takeover.
In the meantime, I have found some interesting stuff here and you all seem pretty friendly, so thanks again.

It's all part of the "New Commonwealth Plan" Mikey, don't worry, you'll get used to all of our accents soon enough! ;)

My wife and I were just talking this morning about the large and growing number of Ozzies on the A list in the US entertainment industry these days. Why should modelling be any different? Welcome aboard, Elroy.

Modelling is an obsession, an occupation, a disease, an addiction, a fascination, an absurdity, a fate. It is not a weak mind’s hobby. Those who do it must do it. Those who do not do it, think of it as a cousin of stamp collecting, a sister of the trophy cabinet, and [dinkywongo] of a sound bank account.
Occasional factual, grammatical, or spelling variations are inherent to this thesis and should not be considered as defects, as they enhance the individuality and character of this document.
Thanks again. I have reconsidered my takeover bid and decided that I would rather concentrate on my models. So I'll leave it to someone else for now.
TomZ2, you have nailed it. It really is an obsession. I am considering having myself barred from hobby shops. Mind you, I only have 5 models in my stash, but they have cost a small fortune and my wife thinks I am weird, but that's not unusual anyway, I guess.
There are some beautiful models around that you people have done and I hope I can do justice to the forum eventually.
Well, I had best get and do some work on my ship, steam loco, another ship, stage coach, and of course, 'Dora'.
