Hi HK,

The fact of you starting to look here in FSM is good. You will see many many models and if you simply Google the item, you will find a huge number of sellers across the globe. needless to say ebay is huge but buying direct is also an option. I live in Toronto area and at 59 have been back into modelling for 2-3 years from a long stop of 40+ years. Boy have things changed   LOL

Drop me a line and I'll share my findings with you. A lot depends on where you reside because online shopping means shipping costs.

Weicome back and let me know if you started anything yet.

LOL ya that's right, except that I'll have to hook up my well ventilated spray  booth to the dryer vent because it gets so cold in winter here the windows freeze solid  LOL

Hi, Hi

I also live in BC, Sometimes I use qualityhobbyshop.com. They're out of st Albert AB. They have a pretty good selection and I usually get my orders in a week or less. Anything else I get off ebay

Cheers

Thanks for all the replies I appreciate the info.

@ VanceCrozier.  I live in Winnipeg.  We have a few local hobby stores but the selection of paints and other stuff is limited.  I plan on buying whatever I can locally just to support a local business and will go online to fill the gaps so to speak.

Welcome aboard HK. Although they won't ship "solvent-y stuff" across the border, I've had nothing but good experiences with Sprue Brothers for online purchases.  Where are you located?

Welcome Herr Klopek, E-bay will give you an avenue sellers shops so it's a good place for browsing and getting a mail order database. I buy from all over the world but live in U.K. Ratings on ebay give you a good idea of trustworthyness too! I've used 'Hobby World Montreal'.

I'm in Ontario but am also fortunate to have 2 hobby shops within 30 minutes of me.  If I don't get what I need from one of them then it's probably from eBay.

Welcome HK. I'm in BC, and I've received excellent service ordering from Great Models., especially for modeling supplies like paints and glues. Many US sites won't ship those sort of goods across the border.

Hello Everyone,

I am a complete NOOB when it comes to the modelling world.  Sure I use to make models when I was a kid but then stopped.  Now I'm pushing 50 years and I'm back.  I like to play computerized WWII war games, Combat Mission in particular and am a member of "The Blitz" and "FGM".   The FGM website has a modeling section and reading that perked up my interest.  So here I am.

This is a great site and so far I've been reading and dreaming.  But now is time for action and I would like to dip my feet in and start a project.  A question to my fellow Canadians.  What sites are good for Canadians to purchase stuff online.

Thanks in advance
