Hi from the UK.

Hi. I am in the UK, in the county of Shropshire. Have been building models for some years, since I retired (I used to be a scientist). Until now almost all of these were wooden ship models, from the period before 1900, but having just completed the HMS Bounty I thought I would try something different.

My son got me the Model Airways 'Wright Flyer', so we will see how this goes.

 Bob.

Welcome aboard, sir. I'd think that if you can build and rig a sailing ship then  the Wright Flyer should not pose a problem for you.

Welcome Sign Nice to see yet another Brit on board.

But now we have someone who really IS intelligent.

Jock, if there's one thing that keeps me indoors, its the heat. Can you send some of that rain back this way.

I would do Bish but some strange and relatively unknown yellow thing in the sky has chased it all away this week! My parents remember it being called "the Sun"!?

Hi all,

thanks for the welcome messages. As for the comment on 'intelligent', I'm not so sure. If so, why would I choose a hobby that is expensive, frequently frustrating, and ends up with lots of large things that are no use for anything, and according to my wife that gather dust and are impossible to clean.

Wait till she sees the Wright Flyer (at 1:16 scale) finished. Large and very fragile wood.

Intelligence is no boundary to sadomasochism.

And whats the point of a wife if you can't keep her on her toes.
