from where I'm currently sitting I'm physically 3 miles out.....but because of ridiculous road layouts, it takes about 30 min to get to the beach in the car

Welcome aboard (no pun intended) and welcome to the hobby.

Excuse my ignorance of US geography, but how far are you from the ocean.

It's a terrible place now.....the heat is unbearable and the people are despicable ( most of them)  I'm stationed at the King's Bay Submarine Base. jacksonville is just the closest place that has a semblance of civilization.

Jacksonville, eh?  I spent time in Aviation Ordnance 'A' School at NATTC Jax, back in 1967, about six months or so, as I recall.  Welcome aboard!

Been modeling for about 6 months now and have dabbled in Armor/Sci-Fi/Aircraft and don't see an end in sight. I just subscribed to FSM and wanted to get active on the community here as a secondary to my first home @ SMA.

Residing in Jacksonville, I don't have much to go on as per LHS but the internet has cured most of my ailments. If anyone here is in the area and k ows of meet and greets or shops or getting rid of some stash, drop me a line! I'll be sure to replyASAP.

Glad to be here and hope to be a valuable asset to the community :)
