Hello everyone just joined here because I've built model cars for awhile and figured I would take a break and build an airplane or two, I've never built anything beside cars so this is all very new to me so I will probably have a lot of questions so far I have a Revell f6f-5 hellcat that I am starting on so any advice about that kit would be helpful.
Thanks,
Cole
Welcome aboard, Cole! Cars, planes, armor or whatever, a lot of us build different stuff, whatever strikes one's fancy at the moment. Keeps it interesting.
You didn't mention the scale for your Hellcat--it might be the old 1/48 Monogram kit in a Revell reboxing. If so, there's not a lot of detail, no interior or boxed-in wheel wells (and the original had raised panel lines), but overall shape looked pretty good as I recall. You can add as much as you want to the interior, or just build it buttoned up and put a nice paint scheme on it.
Cheers
Greg

I built one of those Revell Hellcats earlier this year. Not a bad kit to start with - the folding wings are a bit dicey, I ended up gluing mine in the open position. No interior detail, except pilot and instument panel decal, but, hey, it's good practice.

Thanks for the words of advice guys, I did notice that their was no interior detail which I thought was odd, would there be any other more detailed kits that you guys would suggest?

Not so odd when you consider the kit dates back to the early 1960s, at least. A pilot (or half of one) and a peg to mount him on was about as much "interior" as we got back then, no matter who the manufacturer was.
As for better kits, the fairly-recently-released Eduard Hellcats seem to be the state of the art, though at a big (but not obscene) jump price-wise. I haven't seen one myself yet, but check out the reviews, they seem to be quite good.
Good luck.
Glad to have you on board. And we even welcome car's on here, so your in the right place.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
