Hello, from Parma, Ohio
Posted by Chuck W on Sunday, December 16, 2012 1:28 PM

Hi, everyone.  I am just getting back into building models.  It has been awhile, but life happens, work, kids, family etc. etc. etc....  I have read about some interesting new ways of doing some things, so I will most likely have some questions for later.  When I find out how, I will post some pics of some planes that I have flown, and eventually some model pics as I get them done.

Hi Chuck, I used to live on Stumph Road in Parma Heights.  I even remember when there was a Suadron Shop on Pearl Road in Parma.  As a matter of fact, that first visit  to the Sauadron Shop is what got me into this hobby.  I was blown away by the finished models they had on display there.  I'm showing my age because that was back in the mid 1970's.

Hi dmaastr, I have lived in Parma for most of my life (all but ten years)  One of my favorite hobby shops was National Hobby on Ridge near Brookpark.  I even worked a summer at Cleveland Hobby Supply in North Royalton.  I do not remember the Squadron Shop in Parma.  It could have come and gone while I was in the Air Force.  I now work in Parma Hts.  Do you still live in the area?

I don't remember the Squadron Shop either.  I do remember National Hobby but my favorite was Hobby Castle in Rocky River.  The old store front with the creaky wooden floors and models stacked from the floor to ceiling.  The good old days..........
