making snow

I have used the Deluxe Putty in the tube mixed with a "mud" colored paint to achieve packed up mud in the bogeys.

Hobby Lobby sells a product called Snow Tex which is like a modeling paste with a snow texture to it.  Its not available in big quantities tho.  But it still might be worth trying for using on tank wheels/tracks.

Thanks  I used glue, water and baby powder but have to find a way to tone down the snow on the model.

Agree with Jim, but my don't use flour, baking soda, sugar or other common kitchen items because they're edible for insects/bugs. Glass micro balloons would be my recommendation - snow white, looks like snow and non-edible. Expensive if you need a lot though. I'm not an armor builder so take my advice with a grain of salt (but don't use salt for a snow substitute).
