I am the internet site builder of www.cooksontributeB29.com and have been eyeing the build of Revell's B-29 1/48 kit. Given the resulting size, I was hesitant. This Christmas, my brother-in-law (also co-author of the internet site), and my wife gave this kit to me as a gift. There is already talk of changing my "golf" themed loft area to a "B-29" or "WWII aircraft" theme...so the pressure is on for me to do a "bombing" good job on this center piece for the loft and to be suspended from the ceiling. I have even been fortunate enough to take a ride on "FiFi" in the bombardiers position! (you can see 2 clips on the "CAF FiFi" page of the flight)
As a child, I have buillt many a revell kit and even built the Cutty Sark and Constitution with full rigging/sails. Although it has been many a year, I am already recalling many a trick to modeling including building my own tools from parts runners and clothespins for rigging line tautness while glue dries.
I will be using this site to "get up to speed" on newest tricks and tips. I am giving some thoughts to including build photos and tips I may develop. Any tips or where to look for tips would be appreciated...especially from any member who has built the kit themselves.
