Back from the dead

I have been doing model kits going back to when I was around 7 or 8 years old starting with a Snap kit of a dragster.Since then, Ive done a wide variety of model kits - cars, planes, tanks, ships, modern jets, space ships and of course the Budweiser horse wagon train model kit. Remeber that? There is another story about that kit that caused me to not to speak to my mom for 3 weeks when I was 12 yearsr old. Let's just say, all that work I spent on it for a month came crashing down beyond repair. Not a pretty picture.

Anyways, it's been 25 plus odd years since I touched a model kit until now. With a gift card recieved as a Christmas gift, I decided to to go back to my first love - model building. With that said, I purchased my first after all these years; a P-51 Mustang Red Tails model kit. I often ask myself "why did I stop?"

A number of factors: I dated a girl who later became my wife of 18 years, who also blessed us our first child '03 and having the time of my life as a family man.

Surprisingly 99% of my model paints that's been dormant for over 20 years were still good as I first bought them.Of course I did needed to replace whatever color I needed. LOL!

My goal for 2013 is to finally learn to use that airbrush set I bought and never used back in 1989. All I need to do is get myself an air compressor. I am looking forward to learning new tricks of trade and improve myself to become a much better builder in this hobby.
