Welcome, you've come to the right place.  I also find modeling a nice stress relief and diversion from life.

Welcome aboard Rob. Yep, i think we have all been there, and most of us are probably still sticking fingurs together. At least you have the most important tool. And don't be afraid to post pics of your build, we love pics here.

Welcome Sign

I remember, with some degree of fondness, the first time I got superglue on the kitchen table.

My wife is used to it now.

Welcome aboard.

Hi all!

Been having a look round the forums and it appears to be a very friendly place!  I'm a complete novice in model building, when I was a kid I had kits that I built with my dad and friends but never really 'got into it'.

But now I'm looking for something to take my mind off my business (golf isn't working because it hasn't stopped raining for 8 months solid in the UK), so I thought let's try models!  Initially wanted to get into RC but it's expensive and again fairly weather reliant and also quite large scale.  I now realise that I want something I can do on the kitchen table with lots of satisfaction and challenges.

So I've now got on order my first kit which is an Airfix Nth American F-86F Sabre, I've got glue, sand paper, a knife and patience!  Looking forward to getting it to the stage of painting, however the image I have in my mind is something of perfection!  I realise that this won't be the case with my first attempt!

Anyway I look forward to asking lots of questions and hopefully posting lots of photos in the future!

Thanks, Rob
