Hello All
Posted by bud156 on Sunday, February 15, 2004 5:54 PM
HI everyone, I'm Mike From Duluth. I have been modeling off and on for about 3 years. Most of my models have fallen into the hands of my nephew so I don't have many to display. I've lived in an apartment for just under a year and its to small to do any modeling. I hope to be moving out of Minnesota soon to look for a job and a bigger apartment that I can build models in. Getting FSM monthly is the only thing keeping me sane. Happy modeling to everyone.

Mike

Welcome aboard Mike. I remember when I was in the Navy the romms we stayed in when we wern't out to see were tight as well as we had to share them with 2 other guys. There were 2 desk per room so for the first couple months I had to share my desk with one of my roommates. Thank goodness he modeled as well. Of course he built those wingy thingies so our taste were different but the tools and supplies weren't.

Anyhow welcome to the forums and soak up all the knowledge that is available.

Welcome Mike! Looking forward to seeing you around the forums. What do you build?

So far I've built a 99 corevette, blue w/ a white racing stripe down the middle (by far my best model ever) but it fell into the hands of my nephew =(. I've also built the german submarine U-99, but that got knocked off my dresser by my cat, I built some earlier models that werent to good so I took em apart to use for parts. My current goal is to make a viper and scratch build some police details like a lightbar and a computer. I also want to wire it to make the lights work, my local hobby shop has flashing red lights for model railroad cross bucks that look like they would work well. I'm also working on a P-51 mustang, I'm painting it w/ the colors of the Tuskeegee Airmen, however I tried working on it in my dinning/kitchen/living room, but It just didnt feel right. I think in the future I'm going to stick to building autos and occasionally I'd like to build planes. I'd also like to build the USS Enterprise, It's been at my local hobby shop since I can remember in the same place for $70, you'd think the owner would mark it down, but he's just a different kind of guy. Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome and I hope to get to know you all through the forum.
