Thanks RedCorvette.  I think I would model anything.  I just like the process of scale model building. However, in high school, most of my models were WWII aircraft. I think that is where I will return to.

Anyway, thanks to everyone for their warm welcome.  Untill I begin to build something, I will continue to lurk here. As the old man on the Jackie Chan cartoon said, "Must do research"

Hi Mark.  Glad to have you here.

My story is similar, though I'm about 10 years older (will be 60 soon).

Grew up building Monogram kits, took some time off during high school and college to chase girls and then got back into it after I got married and settled into my career.

I mostly build Navy carrier aircraft, but also like cars.  In recent years I've also branched off to do some wooden ship models.  My biggest problem is having too many hobbies and not enough time.

Again, welcome to the forums.

Mark

Well i wish i could do what he is doing. I have the same kit that i have always wanted to do being loaded prior to a mission, and he is giving me some great ideas. But his skills are way ahead.

Thanks, I am looking forward to it.  Not sure what I want to model yet.  My tendency is toward aircraft.  I have an old Revel B52D still in the box I have carried around with me for years. I worked on B52Gs for 10 years in the 80's and have thought about building that model as a "G" Anyway, just dreaming now.  Thank you all for the welcome.

Hi Mark,

I think your experience mirrors a lot of our members. Welcome to the Forum and back to scale modeling!

Greetings,

I will be 50 years old soon.  I modeled many Revel and Monogram aircraft models when I was in school. The models weren't very good but pretty cool for a  teenager. I stopped modeling after high school and haven't since.  I have seen all the amazing work you all have done and am getting the bug again.  Sound familiar to any of you?  Anyway, greetings again and I hope we can become friends.  I have much to learn.  Peace

Mark
