Newbie here!
Posted by Primokimo808 on Monday, May 13, 2013 5:08 PM

Hey everybody

My name is Kimo and I am new to the Finescale community! I am no proffessional finescale builder and that is why I am here to find some feedback from yall. I have spent 3 years in the Army as an 11b stationed at Fort Campbell! My biggest regret is not re-upping!!Tongue Tied but oh well. UH-60 Blackhawks are my favorite to build, particulary the 1/35th Academy. So far I have only built 3 1/35th scale academy models. With very little experience and skill in model building, I hope to become a skilled professional in this awesome hobby! The last 3 blackhawks I have built weren't the greatest due to my lack in skill but I hope that with the help and feedback from yall that I will achieve expected results that I can be satisfied with. Expect to see future posts from me when I receive my Academy 1/35th UH-60 Blackhawk soon! Advice and feedback is greatly appreciated!

Hey Kimo, great to have you on board.  Lots of great folks here on the forums more than willing to help and pass on the vast amount of knowledge they have.  Lots of vets (from all over the world) too.  Thank you for your service!  Now jump on in and have fun!  Be sure to post pics of your builds!

Welcome Kimo! You couldn't have picked a better place to seek help and knowledge in the scale modeling realm. Don't hesitate to ask questions. We're all in this together.

Thank y'all for the support! I will be starting my model as soon as I receive it in the mail. I am wanting to complete this as accurate and "realistic" as possible. With the help from your experience and knowledge, I know I can do this!

In reply to Devil Dawg, an 11b is an infantryman.

Thanks!

Welcome Sign  I have discovered the Fountain of Youth and it looks
and tastes a lot like cyanoacrylate.  It’s nice to meet you.

Welcome Kimo.  One Dog-Face to another, I did the 11b at the same place many, many years ago.  I don't miss ANY of that!  Those little green cans were nasty!  I never saw an mre or even heard of one then!  Beef, with spiced sauce, a killer in a can!!  LOL!  Enjoy the forum!

Nothing ever fits……..and when it does, its the wrong scale.

To make mistakes is human.  To blame it on someone else shows management potential.
