Greetings
Posted by tyrithe on Monday, July 15, 2013 7:49 PM

I'm just getting back into this hobby after being away for about 20 years.  Things have changed quite a bit since I was a teenager.  Anyway, I'm a software engineer in the Atlanta, GA area, and do this as a way to relax after a couple young kids go to sleep.

My modeling interests have been primarily German and Russian aircraft from WW2, although I'm looking to branch into armor for something different.  Still trying to learn control of the liquid solvents, and how to keep them away from my fingertips (or at least keep fingertips from touching plastic where solvent happens to be... ) so nothing to display yet.

Welcome. Glad I am not the only one that has that problem with solvents. There's been a few times I have had a large thumb shaped impression left in the plastic

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

I second the solvent issue!  Embarrassed  Nothing worse than the "giants" fingerprint on a well built plane!  I know what you mean about the changes.  My return was very similar to yours.  But there is a great bunch of folks here with a wealth of knowledge and who are more than willing to share it.  So jump on in and have fun!  Just remember to post pics!

Have a dragon tiger 1 and an Eduard fw190d that are first up. Fighting with masking on an I-16, which has some artifacts of the ongoing solvent war.. I'll see about posting pictures of it shortly.
