Howdy!

Howdy!

Just wanted to take a few moments and introduce myself, I’m Erik, from San Francisco, California.  I coach high school football and work in the same day courier service world.

I've got  back into scale modeling a year ago after a 12 year hiatus. I started building models as a kid with my dad and grandfather, high school came along and the hobby faded away. Recently was drawn back into the hobby, after a  former work associate started building Gundams.

Luckily enough I was able to hop back into the hobby relatively easy. My modeling interests are mainly 1/48 military aircraft, pretty much any era. As a kid I dabbled in 1/35 armor as well, might work my way back into that…we’ll see!

Here's a sampling of some of my most recent builds.

1/48 Airfix Seafire XVII

1/48 Tamiya F4F Wildcat

1/48 Promodler SB2C Helldiver

1/350 Trumpeter USS San Francisco, build with member USFDon2012

1/48 Tamiya P-51B

1/48 Hasegawa Bf-109-G6

1/48 Academy F-86

1/48 Airfix B-57G Tropic Moon III

Thanks for looking! See you around the forums!

Welcome to the forums.

Those are some sweet looking builds.

I especially like the weathering on the Wildcat.  Very nice!

On the bench:  Tamyia Mosquito Mk. VI for the '44 group build.  Yes, still.

Hey Erik, first..... welcome!  Great bunch of folks here with a wealth of knowledge.  Second....great builds!  Didn't take long for you to get back into the swing of things.  I like what you did with the Seafire.  I'm doing an old Monogram Wildcat and couldn't decide if I wanted the wings folded or not.  I knocked the idea around of doing exactly what you did with the Seafire!  I think i looks good!  Might do it with the Wildcat now.  Thanks for posting the pics and I look forward to your other builds!
