Hey everybody!
I'm relatively new to modeling. I used to play with plastic models when I was little, but didn't have the patience for them. I'm not so hyperactive now that I'm older. I make real airplanes for a living, hence my screen name. I've always enjoyed working with my hands in projects that require attention to detail, close tolerances, and quality craftsmanship, so scale modeling seems a good fit
I'm a veteran of the US Army, and I love military history. My interests are in military models, both aircraft and armor. I have chosen an armor piece for my first - a Tamiya M113. I figure it's not too complicated, yet involves some detail and things like working with track, and it wasn't terribly expensive, so it should be a good starter. I'm really looking forward to this build, and curious to see if this becomes a long-term hobby. So far, I feel pretty positive about that
note - this post is almost identical to an introduction I posted at Armorama just a few minutes ago. I've been lurking these forums for a while, but wanted to wait until I actually started my first project before joining
