I just got back into modeling, I started when I was 8 years old when a friend gave me a Monogram 1/48th scale P-38. I glued it together then promptly conducted airstrikes against the green army men invading my peaceful bedroom. It did not survive the battle.
I was hooked and built everything I could get my hands on. As I got more experience and built up my skill level, I started painting and detailing. When I finished high school, I went into the service and took a 23 year break from modeling (moving around a lot, living in the barracks, and deploying often was not good for my collection of aircraft).
I just started back about 2 weeks ago, and after the initial shakiness in my hands went away and I finally gave in and started using a headband magnifying glass, I discovered it was like riding a bike in that it all came back to me. I had forgotten how much I love it. I never airbrushed any of my models but an wanting to start doing it.
I have the following kits, all 1/48th scale:
Revell B-58, SBD Dauntless, P-47D Thunderbolt Razorback, P-51D Mustang, B-25 Mitchell, F-4U Corsair, and P-40 Tiger Shark.
Tamiya F-4D Skyray
Hasegawa Kate and Zero
AMT Henschel 129 and F7F Tigercat
I am going to focus on WWII and the jets of the late 1940s through the 1960s.
