Hi All,
Decided to restart modelling as I did so enjoy it when I was a kid. Of course, then I couldn't afford airbrushes and as much paint as I want, and a fancy tools and the like. But, also, I did not have access to a forum and a magazine such as this one to know what is possible. And CA glue! And model glue dispensed from super thin metal tubes!
Generally, I enjoy building 1/48 scale aircraft, but that is because they fit nicely with my largely scale O-gauge (1/48) scale train layout I am building. I imagine I will branch out into many different sorts of models, with some scratch built structures at least.
Anyhow, many questions to either find the answer to or ask. Currently working on the Academy 1/72 B-17F. My daughter really wanted a "Memphis Belle" model. If I hang the model in flight, then the reduced scale will work with the train layout. I bought the Eduard photo-etch and mask set for this kit, so my fine motor skills are getting a major workout :-) I'll be amazed if I get those machine guns made, but it's all fun to try. (how does one roll those machine gun barrels?)
This is only my second model since prior to college. The Revel P-61 came out "meh", but I learned a lot. The canopy fit is silly on that model, so while I will make another P-61, I will either know how to make a canopies myself or use a different kit.
Well, that's enough for now and "Hi" to all.
