Hello everyone, I'm a recently retired old fart looking for something to help fill the days when I'm not traveling or riding my motorcycle.  I thought I would start by building a model of the Canadian classic Avro Arrow.  When I got the kit I how no idea it would be as detailed or complex as it was so I bought a couple of Revel kits to practice on before I start on the Arrow (a F-18 Falcon and a F14 Tomcat).  They are not much simpler (things have changed since I was a kid).   Looking forward to learning all the skills necessary to do a decent job on these models especially air brushing which I've never tried.  Any advice I can get will be greatly appreciated.Smile

Welcome to the forums Tony!  And welcome back to the hobby.  I can tell you, you have just begun to see the new and improved hobby!  AB's are just the beginning!  My advice is to try everything out and see what works for you.  There are a multitude of glues, paints, and tools out there.  Just need to find what works for you!  And that is just half the fun!  Remember, it's a hobby...have fun!  And be sure to post pics of your builds!

Welcome to the forums.

It always fun to see as we old farts fumble around trying to figure out "what the heck happened" to model building since we were kids

ps you'll love it

Welcome aboard Tony. Things have certainly changed in the hobby. If you have any specific questions, your best bet is to put them in the relevant section, that way you will get more chance of some good advice.

For now, take it easy and ease your self in, and be sure to post some pics.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
