Huskerguy says Hi from the Blue Grass State

I am back into modeling after about a 65 year layoff. I am sticking mostly with WWII aircraft, in 1:48 scale. I am learning more with each model, and there have been some terriific tips in the magazine. I just logged on to this site, and am looking forward to spending time reading posts and getting some new ideas.

Welcome to the community. I am new in this forum as well, and am interested in the same scale and type of models you enjoy. I am currently working on a ME 109, but have recently finished a JU 84 and a P-40 Flying Tiger. I use the Osprey Publications for tips on the history and markings of what the planes actually looked like ... it just helps to get the feel for the aircraft that, hopefully, translates into a more authentic looking model. Yet the whole purpose is the "quite fun" one has in the building of the model. Enjoy the hobby! Perhaps we will exchange photos of our projects and tips in the future.

65 years! That's a long time to wait for the paint to dry. Next time try acrylics. Welcome back to the hobby.Big Smile [:D]

Hello there Huskerguy...

And welcome to the community. 65 years?? Thats before my dad was born...Big Smile [:D] Hmmm... things surely must've changed from those days. Anyway, welcome back to a great hobby. I'm sure the guys at the forum would be glad to help you with any queries. And I look forward to learning some old tricks from you as I am a beginner and love 1/48 WW2 aircraft. Enjoy your stay here and do share pictures of your 'older' models if you still have them.

Cheers,
Nandakumar
