New guy on the list
Posted by After All on Thursday, February 27, 2014 6:18 PM

Just renewed my new email address, etc.  Worked for the airlines 42 years--13 years managing travel agencies- 12 years with the school system. Retired.  Building models for over 50 years.  Got hung up on Airliner scale 1/144.  Just completed aircraft from the first carrier I worked for,  except for one.  Can't afford the price, plus shipping  that's being asked for a Martin 202 plastic kit.  Would like to go into some of the old past carriers----aircraft isn't a problem, but finding liveries for the carriers is a problem.  Do also, build some WW2 aircraft.   At this moment in time I can't get into modern day military jets aircraft.

Welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you aboard!

A lot of the guys on here print their own decals. If you go to the Decaling forum on here and post your question, I'm sure the guys will tell you how to "git er done". I've built two planes recently where I couldn't find decals for them. A fellow club member made them for me. From what I hear, it's fairly simple. My problem is that I don't have the right printer.

Hope that this helps you.

I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.

Welcome Sign Once upon a time, in a modeller’s bench far, far away… If you do not know what modeling is, you may think it is not especially difficult. Let me tell you that it is an arduous task: it destroys your eyesight, bends your spine, squeeze your stomach and your sides, pinches your lower back, and your whole body ache. This forum is a country music song waiting to happen.
