Hello
Posted by LV2FLY on Sunday, March 2, 2014 3:49 PM

Hello Everyone,

After many years absent from modeling I decided it was time to get back in and see what was new after 40 years away from the hobby but, always interested.

I'm a semi-retired aircraft maintenance engineer/pilot and FAA A&P.  I've always had a interest in Canadian aviation history of all kinds and any aircraft that was different.  Regardless of where it was manufactured.

Presently I provide quality assurance for Canada's CC150 Polaris aircraft MRTT.  I's starting out on building a Transport Wings A310 MRTT.  The aircraft I supervise.  It is going to be very ambitious but, I am looking forward to having the real aircraft outside my office door so I can get correct details for this replica.  I would like to hear from other RCAF buffs and anyone who has built this kit.

Cheers,

fox

Welcome to the Forums LV2FLY! Glad to have you aboard!

Welcome back to the hobby. Lots of great guys, and gals, on here that are ready, willing and able to help you with questions or problems. Sounds like you will be able to help some of them. I'm sure you will hear from other RCAF buffs.

Welcome aboard, dive in and enjoy. We have the odd Canadian on here and I know a couple are interested in the RCAF, there was a GB dedicated to it a couple of years ago.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Welcome, LV2FLY !  Glad to have you.

Not too many people in here that live somewhere colder than where I live. Would you guys stop sending all your cold air down our way already. Geeees. Coldest winter of my life here in southern  Minnesota!

I have a few model kits that could be built with Canadian markings. We should get into a group build together and learn each other a thing or two.

Number one thing to keep people interested in your stuff here .... pictures. We all just LOVE model pics in here. Get building and clicking . . . . . .

Bill.

On the bench:  Lindberg 1/32 scale 1934 Ford Coupe and a few rescue projects.

In queue:  Tamiya 1/35 Quad Tractor or a scratch build project.

Hey Bill and everyone.  Thank you for the warm welcome.

Sorry about the cold weather.  It's nasty here too.  I have quite a collection of Canadian Military & civil aircraft resources.  The http://airforcemuseum.ca/en/ is across the base from me and has quite a collection of aircraft.  I anyone wanted detail picture I would be happy to fetch them.  When the snow is gone. If the website Gods here were open to the idea of a "Canuck Corner" that would be great and they can count me in as a volunteer.  Most of the guys I work with are retired RCAF and Canadian Armed Forces and they know these aircraft inside and out.  The other are Air Canada, Wardair, Canadian Airlines guys.  Canada's version of Air Force One (991) is in the hangar now and I hope to fly my A.R. Parrot around and get some shots of the details from above.

Thanks again everyone and you can expect lots of pictures from me.....and lots of questions

Cheers,
